Baerlauch is called Ramsons or wild garlic, or sometimes even bear's garlic and is grown in upper Himalayas (high altitude forests). The edible leaves are pungent, with a flavor that falls somewhere between garlic, leeks and wild onions. The leaves have been ground into a paste / pickle form and is quite refreshing when compared to similar offerings in the market (a different take on the pesto sauce if you may want a similarity). Preserved in Indian style, it has a hint of mustard and spices, which adds to the flavor. All organic ingredients of wild garlic, mustard oil, apple cider vinegar, honey and himalayan salt and spices.
Uses: Can be used as a spread on breads, sandwiches, etc or as a pickle with your meals or an accompaniment to your snacks. Shelf life of xx months, best to refrigerate upon opening.
Did you know: Baerlauch is a German word and refers to brown bears who like to dig up the plant and eat it in the spring.
